For the last decade I've observed so many of my fellow people who were considered "less black" by others and our own because of the music, fashion and style traits we find interest in that wasn't a default of interest in the black community. The personality traits that were not the same considered by the norm. We were considered the outcasts. We were considered the odd ones. The wierd ones. Now we are the tastemakers. Our influence in our own culture is obvious. But we aren't the ones to make it ownership. We just need to be defined. It just takes a statement to be clear we are also visible and aren't something to be ashamed but at least our own. #alterblaq
